CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin
Also known as CJC-1295 no DAC, Mod GRF 1-29, ipamorelin
CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). Ipamorelin is a small synthetic peptide that acts on the ghrelin (growth hormone secretagogue) receptor. Both stimulate growth hormone release by different routes. Neither is approved.

Identity
- CJC-1295 with DAC
- Modified GHRH(1-29) with a maleimide linker that binds albumin; about 3,650 g/mol
- CJC-1295 no DAC (Mod GRF 1-29)
- Tetrasubstituted GHRH(1-29) without the albumin linker; about 3,368 g/mol
- Ipamorelin
- Pentapeptide Aib-His-D-2Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2; C38H49N9O5, about 712 g/mol
- Half-life
- CJC-1295 with DAC: about 6-8 days in a 2006 human study. Without DAC: minutes. Ipamorelin: about 2 hours in human pharmacokinetic work.
What the research covers
A 2006 study in healthy adults (Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism) measured growth hormone and IGF-1 after CJC-1295 with DAC. Development of CJC-1295 as a drug was later discontinued.
Ipamorelin was described in 1998 as a selective growth hormone secretagogue. It reached Phase 2 testing for postoperative ileus, a gut-motility condition, and was not approved.
No published controlled trials study the two together.
Summaries describe what studies measured, not what a substance does for anyone. Nothing here is a claim of benefit or a basis for use.
Regulatory status
- Neither is FDA-approved. FDA's 2023 review of nominated compounding substances placed both CJC-1295 and ipamorelin in Category 2 (significant safety risks).
- The August 2026 FDA warning letters to peptide sellers named ipamorelin among cited products.
Anti-doping (WADA)
Prohibited at all times under S2: GHRH analogs (CJC-1295) and growth hormone secretagogues (ipamorelin) are both named classes.

CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin questions
Is CJC-1295 the same as sermorelin?
No. Both are based on the first 29 amino acids of GHRH, but CJC-1295 has amino-acid substitutions (and, in the DAC version, an albumin-binding linker) that make it last longer. Sermorelin is the unmodified GHRH(1-29).
